Handmade Holidays – Finland Display at ASI
November 14, 2018 - January 13, 2019$6 – $12
HANDMADE HOLIDAYS / AMERICAN SWEDISH INSTITUTE
The American Swedish Institute’s richly decorated Nordic Holiday Rooms this year center around ASI’s year of The Handmade. Countries represented are Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland and FINLAND, and this year’s special guests from the Czeck American community.
THE FINNISH ROOM is designed by Anita Jain, Common Strands founder and CEO. Her role as a liaison between reputable venues and Finnish artists helps bring the work of Finnish artists and designers to the U.S. This year’s room represents five artists’ work directly from Finland. Two more artists are Finns borne in U.S. And then there is a very well known rug maker of Swedish decent, but who has visited Finland! and has all the colors in her rug that were needed to complete the room. Sub-theme of the Finnish room is the Millennial Generation.
Admission $12 adults, $8 seniors ages 62 and above, $6 ages 6-18 and full-time students with ID
