The Fantastical Worlds of Kim Simonsson -Exhibit
April 20 @ 8:00 AM - July 15 @ 5:00 PM
Finnish sculptor Kim Simonsson’s quirky world of moss people at ASI
American Swedish Institute displays a collection of “moss-covered” figures of children and animals set in a fantastical world of Finnish forests that reference imagery from Nordic fairy tales. The special technique of green nylon fiber on ceramics produces these eerie collections of moss people to be displayed in the Osher Gallery and throughout the mansion. All of Simonsson’s sculptures were created in his studio in Fiskars Village, west of Helsinki. First Look Opening, April 20. For more info
