FFN Virtual Independence Day Events

FreeCelebrate Independence Day with music of Jean Sibelius!
Please note date change from the Saturday the 4th to Monday December 6th
Ruusamari Teppo, concert pianist and direct descendant of Jean Sibelius, will perform piano and chamber music by Jean Sibelius to celebrate themes of Sibelius’ love of nature and country. Ruusamari, on solo piano, will perform the Tree and Flower Cycle, and Valse Triste and Finlandia will be played by a piano, violin, and cello trio.
Thoughts, comments, and aphorisms about nature and country will be read in English, as well as several poems in both English and Finnish.
This Independence Day concert will premier on Finlandia Foundation National’s YouTube channel on Monday, December 6, and is part of Finnposium, a variety of online chats, webinars, musical and other presentations related to Finland and Finnish culture in the U.S.
